Ethos

What drives us? What motivates us? What is our razon d'etre? These are important questions for anyone to answer, much less those with some strange desire to play doom metal. Why in the world would you want to do such a thing? First, because I must. Art is something that you cannot keep buried, and that you cannot repress; it sings through you and flows like a never-ending stream. All artists are not so because they chose to be; they are artists because they could not NOT be. Second, because there can never be enough quality art in existance. Disposable, forgettable wares are usually the nature of the day, but rarer are the things which endure, the longlasting. Third, because that which is important needs to be expressed, and therefore preserved.

If this is all too heady, feel free to scope out some lyrics.

Music vs. Lyrics

A quote from one of the seminal thrash bands, Believer, sums up our philosophy on this question. "Listen. The lyrics are very, very, important. But without good music, no-one's going to get to hear your lyrics." In short, it's not a matter of one taking precedence over the other. Both must be excellent.
